This highly regarded travel business, set up by a charismatic entrepreneur had a youthful and can-do culture. The business evolved pre-internet times rapidly under the guidance of Vistage and a trade-sale was the goal. 
The company had not considered a C Suite Level Finance / Commercial Director appointment before being introduced by Vistage to HT. Once give the mandate, HT’s key task was to reflect to the board (and the job market) the exciting culture, nature and prospects of the business - and how HT could attract a dynamic and very commercial FD. 
The chosen candidate, rapidly turned around the company’s core systems from credit card terminals to forecasting reviews and ultimately the company’s first comprehensive 3-year plan.
